Not just fashion shows. The Milan Fashion Week, as well as bringing the creations of the most prestigious designers onto the catwalks, is also synonymous with events and super-exclusive parties that attract celebrities from all over the world to the city. One of the most photographed public figure of this edition was definitely Nicki Minaj, who arrived at the Diesel store in the heart of the city to present the capsule collection she designed in collaboration with the brand led by Renzo Rosso; she was also seen in the front row at the Fendi fashion show.
There was another special evening that caught the attention not only of insiders but also the Milanese public. The arrival of well-known figures in fashion and entertainment at the second edition of the Green Carpet Fashion Awards at La Scala. The event, which aims at promoting sustainable fashion, saw, for the awarding of prizes, names like Cate Blanchett, Julianne Moore, Anna Wintour, Olivia Palermo and Cindy Crawford.
Another super-trendy event was Making love. A Vogue tribute to Mina, that Vogue Italia organized at the Manzoni cinema to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary since the debut of the great Italian singer. Mina was the protagonist of the cover and a photo shoot in the October issue through the images of 15 models artfully made up to resemble the Tiger of Cremona. To make the evening even more special, were the live performances of drag queen Violet Chachki, a gospel choir and Måneskin.
Of course, there were also numerous after-parties to end the fashion week. From the one held by Missoni, in the splendid night setting of the Milanese City Life district, to the Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini one, which saw the performance of a bewitching Amanda Lear.
But the event that really won over the audience was Robbie Williams’ surprise performance after the Emporio Armani show at Linate airport. The British pop star, in fact, offered the Milanese a real concert with lots of dancers and a sparkling set.
