In June, it was the best-selling electric car in Italy: the Tesla Model 3 was the most popular among the zero-emission models available in the country, as shown by research data. Among the main reasons, it’s the smallest saloon proposal by the California manufacturer.
Since its founding in 2003, Tesla has set itself an ambitious goal: to accelerate a sustainable energy future. Its first product, the Roadster sports car, debuted in 2008, followed by the S Model in 2012, while the SUV Model X unveiled in 2015. In 2017,Tesla launched Model 3, an electric car for everyone, at a starting price of 35,000 dollars and a range of almost 350 kilometres. Tesla also manufactures two energy storage solution products: Powerwall, an energy storage for the home, and Powerpack, for industrial use. In 2016, Tesla became the world’s first vertically integrated sustainable energy company thanks to the acquisition of SolarCity, the largest supplier of photovoltaic systems in the United States, and, in 2017, it unveiled Solar Roof, a product for low cost power generation.
Elon Musk is Tesla’s brilliant co-founder and CEO, overseeing the design, planning and production of the company’s electric vehicles, batteries and Solar Roof.
He is also co-founder, CEO and lead designer of Space Exploration Technologies: he oversees the development and production phases of rockets and spacecrafts that are used for low Earth orbit and space missions, with the goal of creating a self-sustaining city on Mars.
But that’s not all: Musk is also the CEO of Neuralink, which is responsible for developing implantable brain-computer interfaces. He also founded and is currently the CEO of The Boring Company, which aims at increasing tunneling speed and integrate the underground system with an all-electric public transport.
Previously, Elon co-founded and sold PayPal and Zip2, and he contributed in bringing major publishers such as the New York Times and Hearst to the Web.
Going back to Tesla Model 3, it is important to mention that it also got a five star safety rating from Euro NCAP: in the most recent crash tests, it proved extremely safe in adult protection (the rating reached 96%), for children on board (86%) pedestrians (74%), as well as the inclusiveness of standard safety features (94%). Not surprisingly, the metal structure is a combination of aluminum and steel to ensure maximum strength in each area of the vehicle. In a roof crash-test, Model 3 withstood impacts four times larger than its mass (virtually equal to the weight of two adult African elephants).
The car is available with all-wheel drive system, 20-inch wheels, Performance braking system, and low height for maximum control in all weather conditions. In addition, the carbon fiber spoiler increases stability at high speeds, allowing the Model 3 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds.
Safe, reliable, high-performance, but also beautiful and equipped with all the comforts: Model 3 has an all-glass roof, premium interior and 15-inch touchscreen display. To get to know it better and appreciate all its features, Tesla invites you to visit the new Temporary Store on the ground floor of Rinascente in Via del Tritone, in Rome. It will be an opportunity to request a Test Drive with Model S, Model X or Model 3, and a specialized team will be on hand to answer all the questions and curiosities about the car, inform about all the charging options and suggest the configuration best suited to your personal driving needs.
The event awaits you from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., daily, until August 31.
