If films are the true soul of the Venice Film Festival, the red carpet definitely wins the second place as it creates moments designed to make the public dream. And even this 74th Edition, inaugurated last August 30 by testimonial Alessandro Borghi, didn’t disappoint expectations and saw, parading on the red carpet, actresses and models of international fame, wearing the most exclusive gowns from the most prestigious designers in the world.
Black seems to continue to reign, as demonstrated by the feast of feathers by Alberta Ferretti worn by Renata Kuerten and the gipsy inspired dress by Alexander McQueen sported by Amanda Seyfried.
But there are also those who, instead, in order to get noticed, strategically focused on bright shades and impalpable fabrics, perfect to enhance their complexion. Anna Mouglalis conquered the photographers with a long and luxurious impeccable dress by Chanel Haute Couture which enveloped her body like a second skin. Julianne Moore chose the sparkling minimalism of Valentino, precious without excesses. While Karolina Kurkova and Amal Clooney indulged in the charm of delicate pastel hues. The first one with a ruffled dress by Philosophy of Lorenzo Serafini, the other, enveloping herself in lilac chiffon, a creation by Atelier Versace (accompanied by an elegant George Clooney in a Giorgio Armani Tuxedo). Baby pink was instead the color of choice for Brazilian model and actress Bruna Marquezine, in Alberta Ferretti.
Young Italian actress Matilde Gioli in a Balmain patchwork dress and Vincent Cassel’s beautiful girlfriend Tina Kunakey, on the red carpet in a cloud of candid feathers created by Armani Privé, challenged conventions with dramatic short dresses.
And the notion that style has no age was proved, with great skills, by a splendid Jane Fonda who, for the occasion, chose a long dress rich in embroidery and appliqués by Marchesa.
