An essential accessory of the summer season and a true fashion icon, sunglasses are increasingly becoming key pieces capable of completing an outfit. All this thanks to the creativity of designers who, for Spring Summer 2019, have chosen oversized dimensions, to then adapt them to their own personal philosophy. Sunglasses must be large, maxi, original in the silhouette and often rich in couture details.
Dolce & Gabbana, for example, proposes DG initial frames, completed with animal prints or flower appliqués and golden ornaments, displaying a Baroque opulence that hardly goes unnoticed.
On the other hand, minimal and extra large shield sunglasses dominate the Gucci catwalk, contrasting with the vintage inspired, freely juxtaposed clothes. Shield styles also presented by Miu Miu, yet enriched with large rhinestone and satin bow appliqués, combining past and future, Lolita and cyborg style.
Stella McCartney proposals are decidedly sporty, with mirrored lenses and architectural profiles.
And while Marni plays with pseudo-retro geometries, transforming the classic cat-eye frames reminiscent of the Fifties into a sci-fi accessory, Prada captures the attention with maxi butterfly shapes outlined by décor buttons that give wearers almost an alien appeal, vaguely Sixties and absolutely eccentric.
